Fresh From Our Farm — Vegetables for Sale
We are excited to announce a new program from Peaceful River offering produce for sale for pick up at the farm. Each week we will have a selection of salad material — 4 items for $12. We will also have a selection of culinary vegetables — again, 4 items for $12. You can order each week as we send out the selection lists, or you can order for a month or more. We will have this service at least through December 23rd, 2017. You can order one or both boxes, and if you have guests coming that you’ll need more — you can order multiple boxes of each or both selections.
Here are the particulars:
- We’ll send our assortment lists with pictures when possible by Wed. morning to interested participants. That e-mail will allow you to order and pay in advance via PayPal. The order deadline is Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m.
- We’ll harvest and process your order on Fridays and store in a crate with your name on it in our refrigerating room.
- On Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. you pick up your vegetables and transfer into your own bag(s) that you bring.
This is not your traditional CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program where you order and pay in advance for a longer period not knowing what you’ll get in your box from week to week. Sometimes, the good intention of supporting farmers and getting fresh, healthy food ends up with food that is wasted, and the customer gets frustrated and doesn’t renew. Our program is developed to give you more flexibility and more knowledge. We’ll often give you suggestions for how to prepare a particular item or offer a recipe. Most CSA customers sign up primarily to get salad material on a fresh and consistent basis, and so we are offering that option as a stand-alone assortment. Simple. Flexible. Fresh. Very Affordable. And Very Healthy For You. And yes, you’ll be supporting our farm as well.
